May 20, 2023 marks the World Metrology Day. This year the theme is "Measurements that support the global food system".
This topic was chosen due to the increasing challenges of climate change and global food distribution around the world whose population will reach 8 billion at the end of 2022.
World Metrology Day is an annual commemoration of the signing of the Convention on Measurement on 20 May 1875 by representatives of seventeen countries, which established a framework for international cooperation in measurement in industrial, commercial, social and scientific applications.
measurement around the world, as the original goal of the Measurement Convention, remains as important today in this digital age as it was in 1875.
