The European Commission, with the aim of promoting and wider use of e-invoices, has sponsored access to two CEN publications on the basis of which electronic invoices are created.
Standardization Institute of the Republic of North Macedonia as a national standardization body took over the publications, that is, the standards:
MKC EN 16931-1:2017+A1:2020 - Electronic invoicing and
MKC CEN/TS 16931-2:2017, technical specification, which are available free of charge and can be downloaded in electronic form on the ISRSM website free of charge.
Both standards support the application of Directive 2014/55/EU on electronic invoicing in public procurement and provide guidance to users at national level on what basic elements an electronic invoice should contain to comply with the relevant legal provisions, as well as to ensure interoperability in international and domestic trade.
