On June 3, 2019 in the EU InfoCentre was held a national workshop on "Improvement of air quality with the help of standards". The workshop was organized by the Institute for Standardization of the Republic of Northern Macedonia (ISRSM) within the project "Involvement of several standardization bodies and national environmental organizations in environmental standardization", funded by the European Commission and EFTA through FPA Agreement between the European Commission and the European Organization for Standardization (CEN).
The workshop was attended by more than 40 representatives of the NGO sector, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, laboratories, educational institutions and representatives of municipalities.
William Hristovski as a representative of ISRSM, Suzana Temelkovska as president of ISRSM TC 9 and Natasha Sandeva Kratevska (ISRSM TC 17), gave a review of the national standardization for environmental protection, while the experts: Angeliku Luizu (Organization for Standardization) Nam (CEN / CENELEC), Robert Brett (Project Advisor) and Chris Spiliotopoulos (ECOS) presented on: European experiences, European initiatives and standardization for environmental protection with emphasis on air quality and eco-design standards.
On the topic of ecodesign of solid fuel stoves, there was a presentation by Ms. Ana Petrovska, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning.
