Protection of structures against lighting-Average number of thunderstorm days per year

Scope

This standard determines the average annual number of thunderstorm days for the territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
The average annual number of days with thunderstorms is used to determine the level of protection of the building from atmospheric discharges.
The average annual number of days with thunderstorms is shown on the attached isokeraun map prepared by the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic of Macedonia.
The cartographic view shows that the average annual number of days with thunderstorms in the largest - central part of R. Macedonia is from 30 - 40, and in the extreme western and extreme eastern part it ranges from 40 - 50.
